Futures Blog:
Futures Trading Journal and Futures Commentary

The futures blog can help you if you fall into one of the following categories:

1. Have you read through the trading strategies section of the website? Are you looking for examples of how I apply my strategies to live markets, and examples of how I execute my trades?

2. Are you looking for general market commentary? Commentary not so general that its about everything all the time, but rather commentary only when it counts, when there is a potential trade setup.

In this part of the website I detail my trades in a trading blog, or journal, for you to see how I identify entry points into my trades. I usually put up a chart with arrows and lines pointing at my entry points and my logic behind the entry. Blog entries are usually posted about 20mins after the actual trade, so they are almost live. I always post my entry price and entry time which is in Mountain Standard Time.

I also post my market commentary here, which is essentially pre-trade research and idea generation/elimination. I do market analysis in the markets I like, and then write my thoughts on the matter. Often, but not always, a market commentary will be followed shortly after by a trade.

Trading blog and futures trading commentary entries are listed by date, with the newest at the top, along the right hand side of this page. All entries are dated and titled.

I believe the Futures Blog section of this website to be one of the most valuable, both to myself and to readers. Its one thing to read a bunch of trading theory talking about strategies, but it adds a whole other dimension when you see the strategies being implemented over and over again in real current examples. This is a great asset to myself in my trading because it provides an extra angle of accountability regarding my trade execution. I also serves as an excellent resource for reviewing good and bad trades I've made. I also keep a very detailed trading spreadsheet with over twenty columns of parameters to describe each trade, and I periodically go through my Futures Blog and trader's spreadsheet to improve on my technique. I hope you can do the same.
